What Is Sponge Needle Technology?
Sponge Needle Technology is Dr. C’s name for a microneedle-style delivery system designed to help ingredients move past the skin’s tough outer barrier more effectively than a conventional flat patch.
Traditional transdermal patches rely largely on ingredients naturally diffusing across the outermost layer of skin, the stratum corneum. That layer is specifically designed to keep substances out, which limits what ordinary patches can deliver. Microneedle technologies take a different approach: arrays of extremely small projections interact with the outer skin barrier and create microscopic pathways that can improve delivery into the skin. Research has studied microneedles extensively for transdermal delivery because of their ability to overcome this barrier.
